I confirmed the max value of serial(COM) port number in devmgmg.msc. It was 256 in XP, and 7RC.

Could you please say specifically the max value what you want.

Thanks,

I am using comservers from comtrol, they support comports up to 4096. For my application 999 would be enough. I am using Win2003 / Win2008 servers. Thanks in advance.

I increased the max value of com port to 4096 in source code. But to use over COM256, please increase MaxComPort in TERATERM.INI.

It seems that it's still not possible to open COMports bigger than 256. Tested with your snapshot, also added MaxComPort=999.

You got a error when you connect to the COM port?

Do you see the COM port what you want to use in "New connection" dialog?

There is no error because the COMports are not listen in the dialog "New connection". Ports are only listen till 256. Even in the Menue Setup/General.. Default port: only ports till 256 are listed.

What version Windows do you use?

Current Tera Term list up by QueryDosDevice win32api. Does your COM ports detected by Windows?

I am using WinXP SP2 and Win2003 Server SP2. The comports are detected by Windows, see my print screens: http://www.svdo.ch/comports.html

I created a test app for check the problem.

http://ttssh2.sourceforge.jp/snapshot/testapp.zip

It popups 2 messagebox. First shows all device and second shows only COM ports. Please let me know both result if todays snapshot does not work fine.

Thanks,
