Description du projet

The Infrared-HOWTO (formerly known as the
IR-HOWTO) is an introduction to Linux and infrared
devices and how to use the software provided by
the Linux/IrDA project. This package uses IrDA(TM)
compliant standards. Remote Control (RC) via
infrared is not the aim of the project, though
this topic is partly treated in the HOWTO.

Une technique et un examen de langue ont été effectuées. De nombreux bugs ont été corrigés et le nombre d'URL ont été mis à jour. Certains code obsolète a été supprimée. Quelques documents à propos de Linux / IrDA avec le noyau 2.6 a été ajouté (mais il ya encore du travail à faire).

Le chapitre Linux PDA a été amélioré avec des informations sur PPP, OpenOBEX, l'impression, et plus encore. La nouvelle syntaxe pour l'option-s de irattach a travaillé dans les sections appropriées. Une version remaniée et améliorée de la "IrDA et USB" chapitre a été inclus. L'étoffe d'impression a également été retravaillée et les indications obsolètes à irlpt_server et IrLPT ont été supprimés. Une description de la façon d'utiliser le Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) a été ajouté. L'information sur certains programmes de LIRC (IR Sélecteur, IControl, jlirc) était inclus.

The Linux PDA chapter was improved with information about PPP, OpenOBEX,
printing, and more. The new syntax for the -s option of irattach was worked into
the appropriate sections. A reworked and improved version of the "IrDA and USB"
chapter was included. The printing stuff was also reworked and the obsolete
hints to irlpt_server and IrLPT were removed. A description of how to use the
Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) was added. Information about some LIRC
programs (IR Chooser, IControl, jlirc) was included.
