magemu provides the software basis for magnetic stripe card emulation through a DSP device (i.e. any generic sound card), with custom card emulation hardware. It consists of two core components, emsb and eab, and the front-end script magemu. emsb, or "Encode Magnetic Stripe Binary," is a tool for the encoding of data into its binary form for use on magnetic stripe cards. eab, or "Encode Aiken Biphase," is a tool for the encoding of that binary data into an analogue signal. Both are written in ANSI C (C99), with magemu written in Python. All three are designed with portability, stability, and functionality in mind.
