Description du projet

xrick is a clone of Rick Dangerous. Written
entirely in C, it relies on the Simple DirectMedia
Layer library and has been ported to Linux (its
primary target). Way before Lara Croft, back in
the 1980's and early 1990's, Rick Dangerous was
the Indiana Jones of computer games, running away
from rolling rocks and avoiding traps in places
from South America to a futuristic missile base
via Egypt and the Schwarzendumpf castle.

The build system has been reworked so that xrick can easily be built on Unix boxes as well as on non-Unix boxes (do not rely on symbolic links, etc.). Function keys are used instead of numeric keys for various game controls, as some non-US keyboard require that SHIFT is pressed for numbers. A potential buffer overflow in command line parameter handling has been fixed. The joystick is (hopefully) OK now. All sounds (music, effects, etc.) have been implemented. The sound on Windows has been fixed.

Ce communiqué a le soutien alpha sonore. Sons de base sont ici, y compris la waaaaaa de la Mort, mais la musique n'est pas appliquée. La qualité est loin d'être parfait.

This release has alpha sound support. Basic sounds are here, including the Waaaaaa of Death, but music is not implemented. The quality is far from being perfect.
